ARDPG
Originally from Bordeaux, Arnaud Puig, also known as ARDPG, began his artistic journey with raw graffiti and lettering, experimenting in Bordeaux’s wastelands in the late 1990s. These early works were driven by instinct, freedom of gesture, and a fascination with urban signs and language.
His studies in art history later led him to develop a more structured and reflective approach to creation. This academic background encouraged a deeper respect for artistic heritage while allowing him to explore his long-standing passions for architecture and words. Rather than abandoning his urban roots, ARDPG chose to enrich them through a more conceptual and thoughtful practice.
Spending nearly fifteen years working in Paris, he absorbed the city’s intense artistic and cultural energy. The diversity of exhibitions, architectural forms, and creative movements played a key role in shaping and refining his visual language. This Parisian period left a lasting imprint on his work and contributed to the maturity of his artistic vision.
Today, Arnaud Puig has returned to Bordeaux, drawn by a gentler pace of life, while continuing to travel regularly to Paris as a vital source of inspiration. In the studio, his work brings together his knowledge of art history and his urban background, giving rise to coherent and identifiable series that define the core direction of his artistic practice.
Words occupy a central place in his work. ARDPG invites viewers to slow down, observe, and take the time to read his pieces in order to uncover their hidden meanings. In a society driven by speed and instant gratification, his work encourages a pause—a moment to see, analyze, and truly understand.
